Imperiale Racing's early pit-stop gamble pays off in Race 1 of the 2018 Super Trofeo Europe.
Vito Postiglione and Karol Basz won Race 1 at Silverstone for Imperiale Racing, their second consecutive 2018 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe victory after winning at Monza in April, pulling them level on points with Giacomo Altoè atop the PRO standings.
Loris Spinelli set pole position with a 1:58.811 for Antonelli Motorsport, a lap more than three seconds faster than the previous Silverstone best, pointing directly to the capabilities of the updated Huracán Super Trofeo Evo specification.
Four rounds remained after Silverstone in the 2018 calendar, but Imperiale Racing's consistency and Postiglione's four career victories at the British circuit were already giving the team a strategic advantage that pure qualifying pace alone could not overcome.
