The 2013 edition of the Concorso Italiano at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey, California was another massive event gathering an extremely large number of Lamborghini ‘on the grass’, naturally with the 50th Anniversary celebration still going on it was another perfect opportunity to show some of the more exclusive Raging Bull models, especially when Automobili Lamborghini SpA brings their Veneno into the US for the first time to show it right next to the very first Lamborghini ever made, the 350GTV on the concept lawn at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Friday.

Naturally there are several prizes being awarded to the best cars that attend the Concorso Italiano, and for the 2013 edition a pristine 1969 Lamborghini Miura S finished in Verde managed to win the ‘Best of Show’ prize … and when you look at the competition that was an amazing feat if you ask me, even if this specific Miura S was restored to perfection.

In fact this green Lamborghini Miura S was picked up two years ago in the United Kingdom by Mark Jansen, a resident of Australia, Brisbane to be exact … before importing it into Australia Mark decided to have his rare Miura restored by one of the best in the world … Gary Bobileff in San Diego, California. A little detail that makes this specific 1969 Miura S even more special is the fact this is one of only 20 Miura ever to leave the factory with the steering wheel in the right side … with little over 760 Miura built in total owning one of only 20 is an experience to be cherished.

Keep in mind Mark first had his Miura S shipped to Italy to attend the 50th Anniversary Grande Giro … where it got starting number ‘008‘ and had an amazing experience driving over 1,200 Miles on some of the best looking roads in Italy … after that Mark shipped this Miura over 6,000 miles back to California so he could show it at the Concorso Italiano … did you know the original 1965 Miura prototype rolling chassis was offered for sale at the Gooding&Co auction this same weekend … it sold for $473,000.

After the 2013 Concorso Italiano where this Miura S too ‘Best of Show’ from the competition, among them a stunning, original Countach LP400 ‘Periscopo’, Mark Jansen will have this champion V12 shipped to Australia and enjoy it for many years to come … all I can say is ‘congratulations on such a great looking icon of automotive history’.
