The open air version of the Lamborghini Centenario. A total of 20 Roadster’s will be made. The Centenario Roadster adopts Lamborghini new rear wheel steering. Designers at Centro Stile Lamborghini even developed a special exterior silver color, called “Argento Centenario”.

At the 2016 Geneva Auto Show we already admired the Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4, the limited edition model to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini who founded the company back in 1963.

In Geneva it was already confirmed there would also be a Centenario Roadster to follow, in total there would be 20 Coupé and 20 Roadster built, the former with a base price of €1,750,000 before taxes while the Roadster would be a little more expensive but that didn’t withhold people to sign the order form all 40 cars were already sold in March.

The Lamborghini Centenario is based on the Aventador but it is still totally different and shows homage to some of the classic Raging Bulls, the front intake reminds us of the Miura from the Sixties, the headlights are styled along the lines of those found on the Urus concept, the SUV that will go into production in 2018.

The front hood shows two large air vents like we’ve seen on the Veneno before while the wheel arch design has styling queues from the Countach, doors and rear view mirrors come from the Aventador while the LED taillight strip seems borrowed from the Asterion the rear diffuser is a completely new unit, unlike anything we’ve seen before while the massive rear wing is fully adjustable and raises into the air at speed.

While talking to representatives in Geneva it was confirmed the Centenario Roadster would not feature a roof, just like the Aventador J and the Veneno Roadster before the Centenario Roadster would be a pure convertible for the true enthusiast.

Power still comes for the Aventador sourced V12 engine, uprated to 770hp at 8,600 rpm, from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reaching 300km/h from a standstill after only 23.5 seconds figures achieved because the Centenario Roadster only weighs 1,570 kg that is a mere 50 kg more than the Coupé version.

The Lamborghini Centenario Roadster continues the legacy from the Reventon Roadster, the Aventador J and the Veneno Roadster and once again there is a special shade for this Roadster, Argento Centenario with a Terra di California interior showing Bianco Polar details.
