Every since the Lamborghini Miura from the Sixties the Raging Bull models have become more and more radical, the Countach was more of a street legal space ship than a car when it was introduced in the early Seventies ... it went on to become the most popular bedroom poster for an entire generation until the Diablo took over with a more 'rounded' design that would be carried on until the end with the restyled VT 6.0 edition.
It would be another decade or so since the Countach for the angular styling to return to the house of the Raging Bull with the introduction of the Murciélago, still not as aggressive as the original Countach at first, but with the very impressive LP670-4 Super Veloce the animal like aggressiveness was back ... for good.
The Aventador took over the reign from the Murciélago as the fifth generation V12 super car made in Sant'Agata, and it showed another evolution of the typical Lamborghini design language ... both stupendously beautiful and still aggressive ... a design language that has been used by Jan Bujnak to create a new concept for a possible V10 model: the Lamborghini Querderro.
Jan Bujnak did some early drawings that showed the overall styling nicely, he then went on the create a perfect 3D render of his dream concept showing some very angular styling and the plethoria of typical for Lamborghini air intakes and vents.
Up front we notice a very deep, far forward bumper/spoiler combination with a large central air intake, on both sides adorned by vertical intakes that cool the large disk brakes on the front wheels, above the headlights we also find a set of intakes to draw in even more air.
The sides show a large, deeply carved in air intake that not only directs air into the engine compartment but is also used to aid in cooling the large rear brakes, even more air for the V10 Bull behind the seats is tunneled in from intakes behind the side windows while air is extracted from the engine bay through a stunning engine cover and massive vents in the rear fascia.
The large exhaust pipes needed to allow enough air flow from the V10 are not located on the lower rear diffuser but found a spot on the outer extremities of the rear section ... two exits on either side, stacked above each other instead of next to each other as we usually see.
Taillights come as thin strips of LED units while a race inspired third brake light found a spot very low on the rear diffuser ... the exterior rear view mirrors are looking very little but that's to avoid adding drag to the design, I'm sure Bujnak has rear view cameras hidden somewhere that feed onto displays inside this Querderro Concept.
The doors on the Lamborghini Querderro Concept are a further evolution of the traditional scissor doors ... on the flagship models made in Sant'Agata the doors open upward, on the Aventador even a little outward too so it is easier to get into the car ... on this Querderro however there is a section of the roof that opens up with the doors, so they tilt forward and upward ... something like we've seen years ago on the McLaren F1 super car.
As this is just a concept render at this moment there are no performance figures, but the designer, Jan Bujnak who lives in Bratislava, Slovakia puts it like this: “The idea behind the project was to create a vision of Gallardo successor. Main goal was to bring a car which could be possible in production. Structural core of this concept is a lightweight and extremely rigid carbon fiber monocoque."
So this will be a fast car if it would ever be built in real life, which is highly unlikely, but still it is very nice to see there is a massive talent out there that wants to think about creating a new Lamborghini model ... perhaps some styling cues or ideas might still make it onto a future production model anyway, the Gallardo successor has been unveiled already ... the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 will make a world wide debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show in a few weeks.
