Reiter will develop the 2010 Lamborghini GT1 racer for the FIA GT

We've all seen the Reiter prepared race cars in the FIA GT championships over the last years, sometimes with tremendous success, sometimes sadly with no finish, but things are shaping up again.

Only recently has Hans Reiter, of Reiter Engineering based in Germany, confirmed that his team will start development on a brand new race version of the Lamborghini flagship ... based on the magnificent Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce evolution.

What is even more important is the fact that this brand new Lamborghini GT1 will be the third GT1 racer to be built to the new rules set out by the FIA GT, joining the Nissan GT-R and the Ford GT.

Stephan Ratel, the president of the FIA GT is actually very happy with this decision, he had set out a target of three cars in the 2009 championship and was aiming for at least five cars racing in the new FIA GT regulation next year, he also confirmed that only six car makes would be allowed to enter the new FIA GT series, so we are very pleased to learn that Lamborghini will be among them.
