Nowadays, electric and hybrid vehicles are becoming the standard, and the Lamborghini Revuelto stands out, blending the best of both worlds. Sant’Agata’s latest marvel has turned heads and broken records, and a recent video lets us peek into its raw prowess.

In the latest video filmed amidst the scenic backdrop of the Autodromo Piero Taruffi in Vallelunga, Andrea Caldarelli, the Squadra Corse driver, took the Revuelto for a spirited spin. Caldarelli, a name synonymous with Lamborghini’s racing legends and the pilot for the forthcoming Lamborghini SC63 in 2024, was effusive in his praise for the Revuelto. From its monumental power delivery to the sharpness of the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, he highlighted the vehicle’s “excellent drivability on the track,” while executing a skillful burnout before swiftly navigating towards the initial series of bends.

The new transversally mounted dual-clutch transmission deserves special mention. Touted to feature in the upcoming Huracan’s successor, this DCT offers seamless gear transitions, while the overlying electric motor adds the X-factor absent in prior models.

A scion of the Aventador legacy, the Lamborghini Revuelto epitomizes brute force and elegance. It is Lamborghini’s first mainstream plug-in hybrid, flaunting a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, further complemented by three electric motors. It’s no exaggeration to state that the Revuelto’s roar and performance is nothing short of theatrical. The car zips from 0-62 mph in a breathtaking 2.5 seconds and flexes a top speed of 217 mph.

Lamborghini has strategically equipped the Revuelto with two axial flux electric motors at the front wheels and a radial flux motor gracing its eight-speed transmission. Supported by a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery, these motors can autonomously propel the car with 147 horsepower for a limited distance. And when the thrill-seeker in you beckons, the V12 can be summoned, offering a musical at 9,500 RPM.

The automotive industry’s trajectory towards electrification and downsizing has been stark. Yet, the Revuelto’s triumphant emergence, harnessing a twelve-cylinder engine, is a reassuring nod to traditionalists.

The harmony between its internal combustion engine and electric counterparts has only augmented its appeal. This unity has garnered accolades and led to a 2-year sales waitlist, proving that regulations haven’t deterred the Lamborghini aficionados.

And while the Revuelto currently rules as a coupe, whispers suggest that a roadster version is just a little behind. With such a phenomenal demand, Lamborghini is in no hurry to diversify. Yet, one can’t help but wonder about the possibility of special editions akin to the Aventador’s legacy.

As the world steadily marches towards an electrified automotive future, cars like the Lamborghini Revuelto ensure that passion, performance, and heritage won’t be left behind.
