Lamborghini Gallardo entry to race at Nurnburg ? - the STORY

The Lamborghini dedicated forum on the JabbasWorld site got a very nice addition recently, this very special Gallardo model appeared on the forum thanks to their very active moderator Andre Pinto de Lima.

This highly modified Lamborghini was created by Raeder Motorsport GmbH in Germany, and was intended to race during the 37th edition of the Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy held on May 20. 2005, but before entering a car into such a race, a lot of testing and fine tuning would be required.

A first 'outing' in this car looked very well indeed, last May 16. the Raeder Motorsport team had the car on the Papenburg testing ground to perform a 'functions test', to make sure the car was ready to be used on the track and avoid unpleasant accidents once 'in the heat of the race'.

With a fire extinguisher at hand and a laptop recording valuable information, the car was driven a first lap at Papenburg ... without any trouble, after that another 5 rounds were used for testing the car at higher rpm, making sure that among other things the brakes were up to their job, even a start from standstill was tested to check if the transmission parts would hold ... everything worked like a charm.

The car still needed to be painted and final modifications were still underway when it became close to May 20. when it would race at Nurnburg ... the result ? We'll inform you about it when we receive more information on this very special car.

It looks like the Gallardo GT3 by Reiter Engineering could have some competition from this car, however I don't think that these two cars will be driving in the same class anyway ... this white car looks more like an old Group C entry, it is obvious that the entire body has been replaced with a new, lightweight unit over a tubular frame ... a long way from the original Gallardo model.

Featuring an ultra low ride height, large wheels, a massive 'ground hugging' front spoiler and oversized rear wing, this 'ultra' Gallardo could be a very fast car indeed, we'll have to wait and see if it will live up to these looks on the track in June.
