It is commonly known that Automobili Lamborghini SpA has been a reputable supplier of police vehicles for the Italian Polizia di Stato force. The force initially used a range of Gallardo-based models, starting with the original V10 model, famously referred to as the Gallardo Polizia. This was later substituted by the superior Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia following an accident involving one of the two Gallardo Polizia cars.

In 2014 we received news about the next step in the evolution of the Italian State Police once again; the Sant’Agata-based supercar company donated a V10-powered police car to the force, and as the Gallardo succeeded earlier this year, we can now admire a blue and white Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Polizia.

The Lamborghini Huracán LP Polizia immediately grabs attention, symbolizing Lamborghini’s meticulous focus on aesthetics and performance.

Front profile: The automobile’s prow exhibits a dominant stance, featuring its sharp LED headlights and a spacious air intake for enhanced aerodynamics and cooling of its potent motor. The prestigious Lamborghini emblem takes center stage, highlighting the car’s extraordinary lineage.

Side profile: Viewed laterally, the Huracán LP Polizia’s artistic elements continue to make a bold statement. The energetic, acute lines running along the vehicle’s body are undeniably a tribute to Lamborghini’s unique design blueprint. The side mirrors are crafted ingeniously to minimize wind resistance.

Rear profile: The tail-end of the Huracán LP Polizia sports a pair of remarkable Y-configured LED tail lights. The rear profile is also equipped with an ample diffuser, playing a dual role in sustaining downforce and aiding the cooling of the exhaust system.

Interior

Dashboard: Inside, the Huracán LP Polizia doesn’t disappoint. The dashboard is a blend of high-end materials and cutting-edge technology. The dominant feature is the 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument panel, which allows the driver to switch between different interfaces, including a Polizia-specific display.

Infotainment: The car’s infotainment system also brings together a mix of functionality and convenience, including navigation, media, and Polizia-specific systems like police radio and emergency equipment controls.

Seats: The seats in the Huracán LP Polizia are covered in a combination of Alcantara and leather, providing both comfort and support for high-speed pursuit scenarios. These seats are also customizable, allowing for adjustments that suit individual driver preferences.

Drivetrain

Engine: At the heart of the Huracán LP Polizia is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. This power plant provides a balance between raw power and reliability, essential characteristics for a police vehicle. The Huracán LP 610-4 boasts a powerplant that generates 610PS (602hp), surpassing the Gallardo by an impressive 50PS (50hp).

Transmission: This engine is mated to a 7-speed LDF dual-clutch transmission, which allows for rapid and smooth gear changes, thus maximizing the engine’s potential and enhancing the vehicle’s agility.

Chassis

The Huracán LP Polizia’s chassis is a blend of aluminum and carbon fiber, aiming to deliver both high strength and lightweight.

Suspensions: The car features an adaptive damping system that provides a balance between ride comfort and sporty handling. It can adapt in real time based on driving conditions and the selected driving mode.

Aero: Aerodynamically, the Huracán LP Polizia is engineered to maintain stability and downforce at high speeds, thanks to its diffuser and rear spoiler.

Performance

The Huracán LP Polizia, despite its specialized role, doesn’t compromise on performance. It can reach 0-60 mph in approximately 3 seconds, with a top speed of around 202 mph. This ensures that the car can respond quickly and effectively to urgent situations.

As for as I know, no customer car has been delivered yet in the Huracan range in 2014, dealer demonstrator cars are getting prepared for delivery to the various showrooms worldwide, but most of them will have to wait for a little longer rumor has it the first customer cars will be delivered after the August Summer vacation so the officers of the Polizia di Stato in Italy will be driving the Huracan before any customers do.
